Group 12 Next Gen Delegate: Bianca Williams

Bianca has always been involved with and had a passion for agriculture. Being a part of the local show has just been a part of her life for more than two decades. Bianca has held positions on the Mudgee Show Society that include Junior Vice President, Secretary, Publicity Officer, and for the past twelve years the Chief Steward of the sheep section. The role of Showgirl Co-ordinator is Bianca’s most recent role, and one she hopes to hold for a long time to really build the competition up in the local area and across the state. Bianca has facilitated a junior judging workshop day and held the Group 12 Zone Finals judging competitions in five sections for the past 12 years.

In 2011 Bianca was a finalist in The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl competition, representing Mudgee and Zone 5. In 2005 Bianca also represented Mudgee & Group 12 at the Sydney Royal in junior judging competitions for meat sheep, merino fleece and beef cattle; winning Champion Junior Meat Sheep Judge and placing second at the National Finals. This experience opened up many judging opportunities in central western NSW, eventuating in judging at the Sydney Royal in 2014; two sheep breeds, the interbreed, school classes and state finals junior judging. The keen interest in shows, sheep and agriculture was fostered by the family White Suffolk Stud competing in numerous central western shows as well as the Sydney Royal since 1994.

This year, Bianca has taken on the role of Group 12 Next Gen Delegate for the ASC, attending meetings and contributing to the next generation of the local shows. Bianca is based north of Mudgee near Cassilis on a property with her husband and daughter; teaching at the surrounding schools part-time. Bianca is passionate about the show movement, rural youth and is looking forward to the next 12 months of shows, showgirls and competitions!
